Reaching the parts...

One of our clients working in the construction industry was having problems with their on-site teams who were finding it difficult to access the internet while out on site. Looking for a solution, they asked us to see what we could do.

While you can't find something that's not there, it is also possible to make the best of what you have. The solution here is to spread the load between multiple mobile networks together with using more sensitive high-gain antenna so that if there is a signal, you can capture and use it to the max.

We identified rugged and reliable WiFi routers that can be used in a variety of applications. Ideal for businesses and organizations that need a reliable and secure way to connect to the internet in harsh environments, as a backup solution for your home and office, or if you're at an exhibition or outdoor event, caravanning, or camping.

Typically they have powerful firmware and can handle even the most demanding tasks. Some with a built-in LTE modems, so you can connect to the internet even if there is no Wi-Fi available. So with even a weak signal available we can set up and establish a robust, reliable and secure network in even the harshest of working environments.

Here are the key features these routers have:

  • Rugged construction: Built to withstand the harsh conditions of the outdoors. It is IP67 rated, which means it is dustproof and waterproof. It can also withstand extreme temperatures, from -20°C to 55°C.

  • Long battery life: It has a long battery life, so you can use it for extended periods of time without having to recharge it. The battery life is up to 10 hours on a single charge.

  • External antennas: It has four external antenna ports, 2 for mobile signal and 2 for wifi - so you can connect high-gain antennas for better signal reception. This is important if you are using the router in an area with poor cellular reception.

  • Dual SIM slots: It has two SIM slots, so you can have a backup connection in case one SIM fails. This is important if you are using the router in an area where there is only one cellular provider.

  • Secure: It has security features, including a firewall, VPN, and encryption. This helps to protect your data from unauthorized access.

We were able to help this client work more reliably and efficiently, even in situations where lack of communication or access to data would normally hamper them, especially when time was pressured and during client meetings on site.

If you are finding things difficult and are being hampered by your technology, if it's getting in the way of achieving all you need in your day, we are here to listen and understand your needs. With a long track record of looking after a wide variety of businesses, we are confident we will find a solution for you.
