Archive and Backup

Every day something incidental will pop up in an office, design studio or on a network to point to how crucial the need is for a professional archiving and backup solution. It might be user error (accidentally deleting a directory from the server, for example) or it might be a case of bad policy (teams forgetting the rule on attachment sizes) that could lead to a server becoming overpopulated and ultimately failing.

Whatever the cause, Xgeneration has a solid set of archiving and backup solutions that encompass policy, testing and retrieval, based on both hardware and software. On the hardware front, we work extensively with ADIC Scalar Tape Libraries and Autoloaders. And on the software side, we work in the Mac environment with TOLIS’ BRU for backing up both clients and servers. In the Windows world, we provide EMC’s Retrospect for backup, encryption and compliance.
